Hello everyone, happy Sunday! Thank God I'm still on my holiday so I don't have to wake up for school tomorrow :p but anyways, to the main point of the post! So yesterday I was super bored and I need something to take my mind off of my hunger because I was (and am) fasting so I decided to do some nail art. I was pondering on what to paint my nails with and I just... Decided to paint some eyes, as weird as that sounds! I wanted a base that was almost a nude but not quite so I chose
Dior Trench.

Dior Trench and more pictures of my nail art after the jump!
Dior Trench is a lovely neutral mid-tone brown. Very office/work appropriate as it's a great neutral for everyday wear. Might work if you want a darker nude.

Dior Trench came out with the Diorskin Nude collection for Fall 2012 along with foundations, powders, and other products. Obviously the whole collection was nude themed and so were the nail polishes. There were 4 polishes in that collection:
Charnelle,
Grege,
Trench and
Dune. I picked up
Grege and
Trench. I applied 2 coats of this polish to my nails and it went on perfectly. The formula is pigmented although you will still need 2 coats to reach full opacity. That is not a problem with Dior's formula however because it's almost always perfect, from my experience. Dior's brush is also thick, wide and tapered, which makes for even easier, one-stroke application.
Here is a picture of the brush:
As you can see, the brush is wide and curved so it's easier for you to cover your whole nail with polish with one stroke. Lovely!
So enough with the swatches, as I said before I used Dior Trench as a base for my nail art so here it is!

I think it's creepy and cool at the same time, which is why I love it! I don't even understand why I chose to do eyes on my nails... I think I remembered a nail art design my friend uploaded on Instagram a long time ago (she got it professionally done) and I decided that I wanted to recreate that design.
I didn't use any other real nail polish with the exception of the base, for the drawings I just used white acrylic paint and nail art stripers for the details. The ones I have which are all from Orly (it's the only brand I know that produces stripers that I can get ahold of where I live) are all water-based, apparently.
Here are all the things that I used:
- white acrylic paint
- Orly Instant Artist (striper) in Jet Black
- Orly Instant Artist (striper) in Hot Blue
- Orly French Tip in Pointe Blanche (I only used this for the little white dot in the center of the eye and nothing else... The acrylic paint wouldn't work for this)
- Dior Trench
- Orly's dotting tool
- eyeliner brush (for painting the acrylic. They are super cheap and the brush is quite small; I have a few of these for nail art!)
I guess that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed the swatches and nail art. Thanks so much for reading!
